Storage Space
Storage Space shows the items and fluids RTSBuilding can currently use.
It can include your player hotbar, RTS quick slots, linked chests, machines, storage systems, and supported fluid storages.
View Storage Space
Open the Storage Space tab in the bottom bar. If storage is linked, its items appear here. Without linked storage, you will mainly see player hotbar items.
Storage Space is roughly divided into:
- Top: search box and page controls.
- Left: fluid strip. It appears only when usable fluids exist in linked storage.
- Center: main item area for linked storage items.
- Right: recently used items and fluids.
- Bottom: player hotbar and RTS quick slots.
Search Items
Click the search box and type an item name, material name, or mod name. Clear the search box to return to the full list.
Categories and Sorting
The category list narrows the item view. Clicking a category shows only items in that category.
Sorting controls are in the left control area of the bottom bar.
Select Items and Tools
Click an item in Storage Space to make it the current placement item.
The top hint shows the selected item. In Interact mode, aim at a block face and right-click to place it.
RTSBuilding tries to preserve full ItemStack data rather than only item IDs. Tools and equipment with NBT, upgrades, material composition, or durability should therefore behave closer to their real in-game stack when used from quick slots or remote mining.
Player Hotbar
The lower-left part of the bottom bar shows player hotbar slots 1 to 9.
Clicking a hotbar slot makes RTSBuilding use that tool or item. For example, you can select a pickaxe, wrench, block, or bucket item from your inventory.
If Shift Deposit is enabled, hold Shift and click a player hotbar slot to send that stack into the current linked RTS storage.
Right-clicking a bucket or fluid container in the player hotbar attempts to transfer one bucket of fluid into RTS fluid storage.
Empty Hand
Click the empty-hand slot to clear the selected item.
When empty-handed, placement preview wireframes are hidden. Left-click and right-click return to behavior closer to normal interaction.
RTS Quick Slots
RTS quick slots save frequently used materials and tools.
Select an item in Storage Space, hover an empty RTS quick slot, and press P to bind it. P is the default Bind Quick Slot key.
You can also bind tools or items from the player hotbar to RTS quick slots. This keeps common materials and tools available without repeated searching.
Click a bound quick slot to select it. Hold Shift and click a quick slot to clear it.
If too many quick slots are bound, the last slot becomes a page button. Click it to switch to the next quick-slot page.
Right-clicking a bound bucket or fluid container attempts to transfer one bucket of fluid into RTS fluid storage.
Recently Used
The recently used area keeps items and fluids you used recently.
Click an entry there to switch back without searching again.
This is useful when alternating between a few materials, such as stone bricks, glass, stairs, lights, and recently placed water or lava.
Fluid Storage
After fluid-related abilities are unlocked, RTSBuilding can show fluids from linked storage.
When linked storage contains usable fluids, an orange-bordered fluid strip appears on the left side of Storage Space. Each fluid slot shows a bucket-like preview and an amount in buckets.
Click a fluid slot to select that fluid. The top bar shows the current fluid, and right-clicking a world target can place it remotely like a block.
Fluids also enter the recently used area.
Store Fluid into RTS
RTSBuilding can extract fluid from some bucket or fluid-container items and store it in linked RTS fluid storage.
Common entry points:
- Right-click a bucket or fluid container in the main item area.
- Right-click a bucket or fluid container in the player hotbar.
- Right-click a bound bucket or fluid container in an RTS quick slot.
Each action attempts to transfer one bucket. Whether it succeeds depends on the item, linked storage support, and survival-mode fluid capacity limits.
Modded fluid tanks can also be linked like chests. After linking them, RTSBuilding can read and use fluids from that network.
