RTS Plugins and Survival Balance

When survival balancing is enabled, RTSBuilding's core abilities come from installed plugins. Missing matching plugins make some feature buttons unavailable or hidden.

Enable Survival Balancing

Regular players usually do not enable survival balancing themselves. Singleplayer worlds, modpacks, or servers decide whether this rule is active.

The gear button in the RTS interface only changes personal controls and visual preferences. It does not enable server rules.

For singleplayer, modpack, or server setup, open Minecraft's Mods list, choose RTSBuilding, then open Config. You can also edit config/rtsbuilding-common.toml in the instance or server folder and enable enableSurvivalProgression.

In multiplayer, the server configuration is authoritative. A client-side local config does not override server rules.

Get Plugins

RTS plugins are normal items. Players usually get them through crafting, JEI/REI recipe lookup, quest rewards, shops, or modpack loot tables.

Servers and modpacks may change plugin recipes. If you cannot find a plugin, search RTS or the plugin name in JEI/REI, then check the current modpack's quest line.

Open RTS Plugins

Open your inventory and click the RTS button at the top of the screen to open RTS Plugins.

You can also open the same screen from the Plugins button in the RTS interface bottom bar.

The plugin screen has three areas:

  • Installed: plugins currently active for you.
  • Install: drop a plugin here to install it, or click Refresh to ask the server for the latest state.
  • Inventory Plugins: installable RTS plugins found in your inventory.

Install, Refresh, and Remove

There are two install methods:

  1. Shift-click a plugin in the vanilla inventory.
  2. Select a plugin in the plugin screen and drag it to the Install area.

To confirm the latest server state, click Refresh in the upper-right part of the Install area.

To remove a plugin, find one you installed in the Installed list and click the Remove button on that row. You can also hold Shift and click your own installed plugin row. After a successful removal, the plugin item returns to your inventory; if your inventory is full, removal fails.

You can only remove plugins that you installed yourself. A teammate's shared plugin can be used by you, but you cannot remove it into your own inventory.

Only one range extension can be installed at a time. To upgrade from Range Extension I to a higher tier, remove the current range extension first, then install the new one.

Plugin List

  • RTS Control Core: unlocks RTS overhead control, basic interaction, and a 16-block base action radius.
  • Remote Control Plugin: unlocks remote placement, remote mining, and block rotation.
  • Storage Integration Plugin: unlocks storage binding, bottom-bar storage browsing, auto-store, funnel, fluid handling, and remote GUI binding.
  • Craft Terminal Plugin: unlocks the remote crafting terminal and JEI transfer.
  • Chain Break Plugin: unlocks the Chain shape inside Range Destroy.
  • Area Destroy Plugin: unlocks shape-based batch mining inside Range Destroy.
  • Blueprint Plugin: unlocks the blueprint library, preview, and placement.
  • Range Hiding Plugin: unlocks the top-bar Range Hiding tool for hiding local obstructing block areas on the client. It does not actually break server blocks.
  • Field Deployment Plugin: bypasses RTS Home radius limits and allows moving RTS Home. RTS Home is the survival-balanced center for allowed RTS actions; see RTS Home and Range.
  • Range Extension I / II / III / MAX: increases RTS action radius. The final radius is still capped by the server's maximum action radius.

With only the RTS Control Core installed, RTSBuilding acts more like a short-range overhead interaction tool. You can enter RTS view and use basic interaction, but you do not get remote building, remote mining, storage, blueprints, or Range Hiding.

Team Sharing

When the server enables Team Sharing, teammates share RTS Home and installed plugins.

Team identity is resolved in this order:

  1. FTB Teams.
  2. Open Parties and Claims party.
  3. Vanilla scoreboard team.

Team sharing does not lose item ownership. The player who installed a plugin remains its contributor; other teammates may use it, but they cannot remove it into their own inventory.

Warning: before leaving, disbanding, or switching teams, remove any contributed plugins you want to keep while you still belong to that team. Plugins you do not remove stay in the old team's shared record and do not automatically return to your inventory. After leaving, you cannot use or recover them from your new team. If the team has already been disbanded, regular players cannot recover those plugins through the plugin screen and need admin help.

If two teammates try to install the same plugin at nearly the same time, the server accepts the first successful install. The second player receives an already-installed or range-conflict message.

If a teammate installs a plugin while you are already in RTS mode, the server syncs the state to online teammates. If your screen does not update immediately, open RTS Plugins and click Refresh.
