RTS Home and Range
When survival balancing is enabled, RTS Home decides where most RTS features can be used.
If the game says you are too far away, cannot build, or cannot operate remotely, first check RTS Home, installed plugins, and your current action radius.
Set RTS Home
Open your inventory and click the RTS Home button at the top of the screen.
On first use, click Set Initial Home. After returning to the RTS view, left-click the target block to confirm. Right-click or press Esc to cancel.
When choosing home, the target block must be inside the nearby 3x3 chunk selection area around where selection started.
After setting it, RTSBuilding calculates usable range around the home position. The home screen shows the current home coordinates, dimension, and build range.
Action Radius Comes From Plugins
Action radius comes from installed plugins:
- RTS Control Core provides a 16-block base radius.
- Range Extension I / II / III provide larger radii.
- Range Extension MAX tries to use the server's maximum allowed radius.
The server can still cap the final value with Maximum Action Radius. The default cap is 128 blocks, and the config range is 48 to 512 blocks.
Move RTS Home
Choose your initial base center carefully.
Without the Field Deployment Plugin, moving RTS Home again requires a 20 in-game-day cooldown.
After installing Field Deployment, you can bypass home radius limits and move RTS Home more freely. It is meant for expeditions, temporary build sites, and large map projects.
Shared Team Home
When Team Sharing is enabled, players on the same team share the RTS Home anchor.
If a server enables survival balancing and team sharing, the team should decide the base center first, then set RTS Home, so different members do not end up with inconsistent operating ranges.
