FAQ

Q: How do I set storage insert/extract permissions?

Left-click binding creates a normal insert-and-extract storage link. Right-click binding creates an extract-only link.

After a storage is linked, hover the storage binding button on the top bar and click View Linked Storage. Extract = Yes means extract-only; Extract = No means RTSBuilding can both insert into and extract from that target. See Storage Binding in Modes and Buttons for details.

Q: Why are some buttons missing?

The server probably has survival balancing enabled and you have not installed the matching RTS plugin yet.

Open your inventory and click the top RTS button, or click Plugins in the RTS bottom bar. Installing only the RTS Control Core gives basic RTS view and basic interaction; remote building, storage, blueprints, Range Destroy, and Range Hiding need their own plugins.

Q: Where did the old chain mining button go?

Chain mining is now part of the Quick Build panel.

Open Quick Build from the top bar, switch to Range Destroy, then choose Chain. Left-click a target block and RTSBuilding will destroy connected blocks of the same type up to the current limit.

Range Build, Range Destroy, and Chain Destroy now live in one panel.

Q: Why can I still right-click to place blocks while Range Destroy is open?

That is intended.

Range Destroy primarily uses left-click. Right-click remains available for normal placement or interaction, so you can keep the Range Destroy panel open while placing a temporary block, opening a chest, or using a machine.

Q: Does Range Hiding really delete blocks?

No. Range Hiding only hides existing blocks in the RTS view and lets rays pass through them.

Use it to temporarily hide roofs, floors, or walls while operating blocks inside. Newly placed blocks inside the culled area are revealed again, so you can see the chest or machine you just placed.

Q: What does the Connect button do?

When the shape is Line or Wall, Connect fills diagonal corners so the path stays face-connected.

It is useful for roads, wall lines, pipes, cables, borders, and continuous tunnels made with Range Destroy. See Quick Build for details.

Q: Why is there no preview wireframe when my selected item is empty hand?

Empty hand means no placement item is currently selected. Newer builds hide placement wireframes while empty-handed, so the UI does not look like it will still place a block.

Select a block or quick slot from the bottom bar to resume building.
