Quick Build
Quick Build is the batch operation panel on the top bar. It contains two modes: Range Build and Range Destroy.
When the Quick Build panel is closed, RTSBuilding defaults back to normal single-block placement and normal single-block mining, so batch actions are not triggered accidentally.
Range Build
Range Build places a group of blocks at once. Use it for roads, floors, walls, circles, and boxes.
Basic use:
- Click Quick Build on the top bar.
- Switch to Range Build.
- Choose a shape.
- Choose a fill mode such as filled, hollow, or skeleton.
- Follow the top hint to set point A, point B, or height.
- Confirm when the preview is correct.
Different shapes confirm slightly differently:
- Block: places directly.
- Line, square, wall, and circle: set point A first, then point B.
- Cube: set point A and point B, then use the mouse wheel to adjust height.
The R key depends on the current shape. With Block selected, it opens the block-state wheel. With another shape selected, it rotates the build preview; Shift + R rotates in the opposite direction. See Remote Building for the wheel controls.
The newly placed group can usually be undone with Ctrl + Z and redone with Ctrl + Y. Undo and redo normally require the currently selected item to match the item used for the original placement.
Range Destroy
Range Destroy mines blocks by shape. Use it to clear ground, carve regular spaces, or remove a connected group of similar blocks.
Basic use:
- Open the Quick Build panel.
- Switch to Range Destroy.
- Choose a shape.
- Follow the top hint. For regular shapes, left-click point A, left-click point B, use the mouse wheel for height, then press the confirm key to commit destruction.
Range Destroy primarily uses left-click. While the panel is open, right-click still performs normal placement or interaction with the selected item.
Chain
Chain is a Range Destroy shape.
After choosing Chain, left-click the target block. RTSBuilding starts from that block and destroys connected blocks of the same type. The Limit slider caps how many blocks can be included.
Connect
When the selected shape is Line or Wall, the panel shows a Connect button.
With Connect enabled, path blocks are forced to be face-connected. Diagonal routes fill their corners so the whole line remains continuous.
Connect is useful for:
- Continuous roads.
- Continuous wall lines.
- Pipes, cables, or borders along diagonal routes.
- Continuous line or wall tunnels in Range Destroy.
Cancel Preview
If the preview is wrong, click Quick Build on the top bar again or close the Quick Build panel. Closing the panel returns to normal single-block placement and normal single-block mining. The next time you open Quick Build, it restores the shape you used last time.
