Range Hiding
Range Hiding temporarily hides existing blocks inside a cuboid area and lets RTS rays pass through that area.
Use it for roofs, floors, walls, tree canopies, and other blocks that obstruct overhead building. Range Hiding does not delete blocks on the server. It only changes what the current client sees and what the RTS cursor can hit.
When survival balancing is enabled, install the in-game Range Hiding Plugin item first. Creative mode can use it directly.
Open Range Hiding
Click the Range Hiding button on the RTSBuilding top bar.
A compact window appears. Use its red close button to leave Range Hiding mode. If your current draft already has a complete selection, closing the window creates that hiding box; incomplete drafts are canceled.
Create a Hiding Box
Method one: select an area
- Left-click the first corner.
- Left-click the diagonal corner on the ground plane.
- Use the mouse wheel to adjust height.
- Press
Enterto create the hiding box.
Method two: create from one point
For a 1x1x1 hiding box, left-click one block and press Enter.
After creation, blocks that already existed inside the box are hidden. The yellow selection outline, placement ray, and interaction ray skip those hidden blocks and continue to the real blocks behind them.
Resize a Hiding Box
Left-click an existing hiding box to select it. Six directional arrows appear around the selected box.
Resize flow:
- Left-click an arrow.
- When it turns gold, the mouse wheel edits that face instead of zooming the camera.
- Scroll up to expand that direction. Scroll down to shrink that direction.
- Press
Escto leave the active arrow.
The six arrows map to +X, -X, +Y, -Y, +Z, and -Z. They can be selected through obstructing blocks, so you can still resize a face that is buried inside a wall.
Delete a Hiding Box
Select the hiding box, then click Delete in the Range Hiding window, or press Delete / Backspace.
How It Affects Building
Range Hiding affects blocks that were already inside the box when it was created. Newly placed blocks inside that area remain visible, so you can see the chest, machine, or detail block you just placed.
Range Hiding also affects interaction targeting: right-click interaction, placement, and the yellow selection outline skip hidden old blocks. This lets you hide a roof first, then directly operate blocks inside the building.
Close Range Hiding mode or delete the box when you no longer need it. It is not a server-side mining action and does not replace actually breaking blocks.
