Blueprint Space

Blueprint Space is used to import, select, preview, and place building blueprints.

You can use existing blueprints, or capture a structure and save it as a new blueprint.

Open Blueprint Space

After opening RTSBuilding, look at the tabs above the bottom bar.

Click Blueprint Space to switch the bottom bar into the blueprint UI.

Import Blueprints

Click Upload and choose a blueprint file.

Supported formats include:

  • .nbt
  • .schem
  • .schematic
  • .litematic

After importing, the blueprint appears in the list. Click its name to select it.

Sync Blueprints from Other Mods

When using blueprints from other mods, click Sync Other Mods.

RTSBuilding scans the current game folder for existing blueprint files from supported mods and copies them into the RTSBuilding blueprint folder.

Refresh the list after syncing.

Select and Preview a Blueprint

Click a blueprint in the list and a preview appears in the world.

Use the preview to check position, rotation, and rough shape. Move the camera to the desired place, then use arrow keys and Page Up / Page Down for fine adjustment.

Pin the Preview

Aim at a world block and right-click to pin the blueprint preview at that position.

After pinning, the preview no longer follows the cursor. Check the position before placing.

If the position is wrong, clear the preview and pin it again, or use the movement buttons.

Move, Raise, Lower, and Rotate

After the blueprint is pinned, use Blueprint Space movement and rotation controls.

Common controls:

  • Direction buttons move the blueprint forward, backward, left, or right.
  • Up/down buttons adjust height.
  • Rotation buttons change facing.
  • Arrow keys nudge horizontally.
  • Page Up / Page Down nudge vertically.

Check the preview alignment before placing.

Place a Blueprint

After confirming position, rotation, and materials, click Place to start building.

In survival mode, RTSBuilding checks whether materials are available. If materials are missing, Blueprint Space shows what is missing.

Creative mode does not consume materials.

Materials and Issues

Blueprint Space shows required materials and how much of the blueprint is currently buildable.

If materials are missing, check the missing block names and counts.

If a blueprint contains blocks not available in the current game, the UI marks them. Buildable parts can still be used.

Some modded blocks may display several variants as one generalized name. Newer builds try to preserve concrete block information, but complex cables, buses, and networks are still worth checking in preview before placement.

Save a Structure as a Blueprint

Click Create New Blueprint to enter capture mode.

Basic flow:

  1. Right-click the first corner in the world.
  2. Right-click the opposite corner.
  3. Check the captured volume.
  4. Exclude any blocks you do not want to save. Excluded blocks are shown with red markers in the preview.
  5. Click Save and give the blueprint a name.

The new blueprint appears in the list after saving.

Rename, Delete, and Save As

After selecting a blueprint, you can rename or delete it.

Save As writes the blueprint to a location you choose.
